Brooke Burke Confirms Misty May-Treanor’s Exit

Dancing with the Stars' Misty and MaksimAlthough we still haven’t heard official word from the producers, competitor Brooke Burke has confirmed Misty May-Treanor’s exit.

Over this weekend, it was revealed the Olympic beach volleyball player had suffered some sort of injury. Despite reports that Misty would be needing surgery, the showrunners listed her status as To Be Determined. Now it appears the rumors were true.

Earlier this morning, Burke told an LA radio station that the gold medalist was indeed sidelined. “It’s such a sad situation. She did hurt her Achilles tendon. I don’t know if she tore it or ruptured it.”

Unfortunately, the athlete - who apparently heard a “pop” at the time of the injury - was simultaneously competing on the sand while she was competing on the dance floor. “The sad thing…this is her jumping mechanism. We’re all really concerned for her. She may be having surgery this week. We don’t know yet. It’s such a bummer,” Brooke added.

It’s unclear at this point what May-Treanor’s departure will mean for Tuesday’s elimination show. Expect to get a full report on tonight’s broadcast.

Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 2 Loser

Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas on Dancing with the Stars

Last night on , the remaining 11 couples took on either the Rumba or the Paso Doble. While one would normally expect to see better numbers in Week 2, most of the performers inexperienced declines.

When the points were totaled, - who scored a 24 for his Paso - was the only person to see an improvement on Monday. But given that Brooke had scored a 26 last week, her 24 (also for the Paso) didn’t look so bad.

Of the four performers sitting in the under-20 point range, two hit new lows last yesterday: Kim (17) and Cloris (15). Meanwhile, the other two - Rocco (16) and Maurice (19) - still didn’t have much to brag about.
